This year, give the gift of hope. Each year, 4KIDS of Tampa is dedicated to meeting the needs of thousands of children in foster care - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This year we invite you to make a child's dream come true by giving a Gift of Hope from this catalog.

A Gift of Hope is a gift of significance. Any gift in the catalog can be given in honor of another.

4KIDS Donations

Every year, hundreds of children come to foster care at all hours of the day and night after being removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Arriving with few or no personal belongings, each child's immediate physical and emotional needs must quickly be assessed and met. Some need a shower, some clothing, and others need someone to hold them through their sadness as we work to find them a foster home.

Your Gift of Hope can be used to purchase:

  • A) New Clothing (including socks and shoes)

    • Many children come to us with only the clothes they are wearing; some even arrive without shoes. Your gift will provide him or her with a brand new outfit to ease the transition during this traumatic time.

    Suggested Gift - $20

  • B) Backpack Stuffed with Basic School Supplies

    • In the turmoil of being taken from home, children often leave their school supplies behind. Your gift will be used to purchase a backpack stuffed with basic school supplies to give a child the tools necessary to return to the classroom with confidence.

    Suggested Gift - $25

  • C) Nutritious Food

    • For many of the children brought into foster care their last meal is a distant memory. We encourage our families to provide nutritious, well-balanced meals to the kids brought into our care. The food budget for a foster child can range from $50 per day to $350+ per week.

Foster Home Families

A foster family, whether a couple or single person, can offer a child a place of love and security for a weekend, several months, or longer. They are mom and dad until a permanent solution is found and the children's future is more secure.

Your Gift of Hope can provide:

  • A) Family Night Out

    • Your gift of a restaurant meal for the entire foster family will provide a memorable night out to celebrate a birthday, an improvement in school, or another momentous event.

    Suggested Gift - $50

  • B) New Clothing

    • When children are thriving and growing, they can outgrow their clothing in just a few months. Your gift will provide a foster family with much needed assistance in keeping up with the growth spurts.

  • C) Annual Foster Family Christmas Party

    • Every year, all the 4KIDS foster families look forward with great anticipation to the Annual Christmas Party. There is a special lunchtime meal and gifts for all the children. Then the kids enjoy a special time of fun and games, while the parents meet and are encouraged and inspired in their calling. Afterwards, all the families reunite for a Gingerbread House making contest.

A Child's Gift - No Child Left Out

There is nothing quite as loving and poignant as a child reaching out to another child in need. This season, we encourage you to discuss with your children the many ways they can share the joy of this holiday season.

  • A) No Child Left Out

    • Having a brand new toy, board game or sports ball of their own is a luxury many of the children in foster care have never experienced. Your gift will provide a child with a toy, board game, or sports ball, along with the loving assurance that someone thought of him or her this season.

    Suggested Gift Range - $15, $20, $25

Spirit of Success Institute

At age 18, foster care children receive little to no support from the foster care system and yet they are expected to "make it on their own." It is called "aging out." Our Independent Living Program hopes to provide these young adults with a stable place to live, life skills, training, guidance, and support necessary for them to become successful adults in our community.

Your Gift of Hope can provide:

  • A) Bus Passes

    • Most of the youth who arrive at SOSI have no automobile. Their primary transportation is the bus system. If you haven't ridden a bus lately, the cost is surprising. These kids need transportation for work, school, and their volunteer activities. Help make it possible for a young man or young woman to ride a bus for a month.

    Suggested Gift - $50

  • B) "Off the Street" Pack

    • Homelessness is a huge issue for our at-risk youth. Your gift will provide a young man or a young woman with the basic essential clothing and supplies they need to settle into a home and the new responsibilities that come along with that.

    Suggested Gift - $100

  • C) Missions Trip

    • Do you remember your first mission trip? Your gift will provide a young man or a young woman with the experience of a lifetime to minister to those in need in the Bahamas or Honduras. We know it will be "life changing" for them based on previous trip participants testimonies.
